+ANSYS needs frequent licence updates. To do this: 
+
+    Copy the licence file to */soft/ansys_inc/shared_files/licenses/* 
+
+    Ssh –X to headnode2 and become root 
+
+    Run `/soft/ansys_inc/shared_files/licensing/lic_admin/anslic_admin` 
+
+    Select `‘Launch the ANSYS licence manager’` 
+
+    In the web browser window select `‘Add a licence file’` 
+
+    Select the file you copied 
+
+    Select `‘reread’`. 
+
+    Check that the licence manager is still running (green tick). 
+
